About Cafe Merkaz

Some people sip coffee. We flew to Italy for it.

Cafe Mercaz was born from a very specific kind of obsession—the kind that sends you driving through winding roads in the Italian countryside in search of something real. That’s where we found it: a tiny, family-run roastery just off a highway, hidden behind a row of olive trees, where the air smells like burnt sugar and toasted almonds.

There was no slick branding. No flashy gear. Just one master roaster, 35+ years deep in his craft, roasting in small batches like his grandfather taught him. One sip, and we knew—we weren’t going back to stale, mass-produced coffee ever again.

So we did what any sane person would do: we partnered with him.

Why We Exist

We're not here to flood shelves or build a “lifestyle empire.” We’re here to roast exceptional coffee for people who care about how their coffee is made—and how it makes them feel. That’s why we only roast in small batches. That’s why we source rare high-caffeine beans from Guatemala and India. That’s why our beans never sit in warehouses.
